Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is the current gold standard in laser rejuvenation.  Fractional CO2 is an “ablative” laser technology, as opposed to “non-ablative” treatments, such as the Fraxel Re:store that is also available at Celebrity Laser Spa.  Ablative means that tissue is burned away in separate “dots” on the skin, whereas it is coagulated with non-ablative treatment.  The resulting effect of ablation is much stronger, with more significant smoothing of wrinkles, tightening, and clearance of age spots.  It is also effective for acne scars.  Only 1 or 2 treatments are needed for the desired effect in most cases.

The more robust treatment with Smartxide DOT fractional CO2 comes with a few considerations.  There are a few days of downtime during which healing of the skin occurs, as opposed to no downtime with Fraxel Re:store.  Lighter skin types are the best candidates for DOT, but all skin types are good candidates for Fraxel Re:store.
