Vi Peel

Vi Peel Los Angeles

At this time, Celebrity Laser Spa is no longer offering the Vi Peel. With the breadth of facial rejuvenation services available at CLS, such as Smartxide DOT CO2, IPL Photofacials, Pulsed Dye Laser, Fraxel, Dermasweep, glycolic peels, salycilic peels, and Cosmelan depigmentation, we believe that the issues addressed by Vi Peel are treated with superior efficacy and safety by the above procedures.

The Vi Peel is the flagship and top-end chemical peel at Celebrity Laser Spa. This Vi Peel contains a blend of TCA and phenol and antioxidant vitamins. This combination provides for deep and effective peeling but is safe for all skin types. Downtime is minimal.

Prior to the release of the Vi Peel, there was a simple "no pain, no gain" saying when it came to chemical peels. To get good results, you would have to undergo a painful procedure and have a prolonged healing time. This also came along with a higher risk of complications. However, the Jessner/TCA peel infusion available with the Dermasweep is a great alternative to the Vi Peel. This technique allows precise application of the peel with the infusion method during the microdermabrasion procedure.

Benefits of vi peel

Rejuvenation

The Vi Peel stimulates new skin epithelial growth and collagen remodeling. The effects of sun damage and time are reversed, giving a smoother, healthier appearance. These benefits can be achieved not just in the face, but anywhere that sun damage or aging has occurred, such as the hands, upper chest, and shoulders. Fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed away. Loose skin is tightened while enlarged pores are shrunk.

Acne & Hyperpigmentation

Acne scarsbecome less prominent as well. The Vi Peel is also useful for melasma, but if melasma or facial dark spots are your main concern, then you should consider Cosmelan. Laser skin rejuvenation for melasma is also accomplished with a series of laser rejuvenation treatments with the Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. With this laser, there is no downtime and no risk of hyperpigmentation.

Comfort & Convenience

The procedure is very comfortable and application takes just 20 minutes. A handheld fan is all that is needed, as there is a mild tingling sensation during the process.

Minimal Downtime

There is no time that is required to be off work. The skin peels after several days and is typically finished by the week's end. Makeup can be worn the day following the peel.

Vi Peel F.A.Q.’s

Q. How many peels are needed to see a difference in my appearance?
A. Even with a single Vi Peel, you will achieve repair of damaged skin and collagen regeneration. Even minimally-aged skin will set its clock back in the aging process. Additional peels will provide benefits for troublesome skin problems. You can receive several peels a year for optimal effects. On the other hand Fraxel, laser rejuvenation and IPL Photofacials can also be performed as a series of treatments with gradual improvement with each one.

Q. Am I a good candidate for the Vi Peel even if I have dark skin?
A. Unlike older peels, the many innovations that created the Vi Peel have enabled it to benefit all skin types. Even African-Americans, Asians, and Hispanics are good candidates for the Vi Peel and can experience its restorative and anti-aging effects.

Q. Does the Vi Peel hurt?
A. There is a mild tingling sensation as the peel is applied. The ingredients in the peel cause numbing of the skin after the first pass. A handheld fan is used if desired for additional comfort.

Q. Is peeling severe?
A. The skin starts to peel on day three and is usually done by day 4. It is a light peel that is easily concealed by moisturizer and may be invisible in some cases.

Q. Are there any activities to avoid or restrictions after the Vi Peel?
A. The skin should not be washed for 5-6 hours after the peel. You should not exercise or sweat excessively for that time period also. In the days and weeks after the peel, you should wear sunblock when going outside and keep sun exposure moderate. Makeup can be worn safely.

Q. What are the benefits of the Vi Peel?
A. The Vi Peel has a multitude of beneficial effects. It works at the cellular level rather than just burning off the top layers of skin. Through its combination of acids and antioxidant vitamins, it helps smooth away fine lines and wrinkles, shrink pores and tighten the skin. It also treats acne, hyperpigmentation, and melasma.

Q. Does the Vi Peel thin out the skin?
A. Although people think that with each chemical peel, the skin gets thinner and thinner, this is not the case. The inflammatory healing response to the peel actually causes increased skin thickness and vitality.

Q. What other areas can the Vi Peel be performed on?
A. Face, neck, hands and chest all respond well to a Vi Peel.

Q. Do I need to avoid the sun after the Vi Peel?
A. Sun exposure should be strictly avoided on days 3-4, when the skin is peeling. However, as long as a good sunblock is used, moderate sun exposure is fine after that.

Q. Can I get a Vi Peel if I have frequent cold sores?
A. We may prescribe cold sore medication, such as Valtrex, prior to getting the peel. If you have a cold sore at the time of the peel, it may actually help it to heal faster.

Q. Can the Vi Peel be used for teenagers with acne?
A. Just as with adults, the Vi Peel is very effective for teenage acne. Results are quick and dramatic. Together with a daily skin care regimen, the peel is a powerful yet safe tool for keeping the skin blemish-free.

Q. Who will perform the Vi Peel?
A. Our licensed esthetician or physician assistant.
